Winter Notes on Summer Impressions

The last time I had a blog was in middle school where I posted my reactions to the latest Survivor episodes I had watched with my family. The site is gone now made on some long-bankrupt free website builder that let you make your own games by swapping out the colours and icons for simple games like Pong. I replaced the pong ball with a red bee. Neither the art nor writing here will be up to my standards; it's just to update how I'm feeling.

The heating in my building broke while it's -19°F outside. I'm OK - I have like ten blankets to hide in. It's hard to draw in my worm state with a shaky yet numb hand. so I've mostly just been sorting art in my Hydrus Network. I'd rather the building be cold than be on fire every other week like it was last year.

I'm also pretty tired - the only food I've eaten is bread out of my Amazon Basics Bread Maker. The last loaf didn't rise at all and came out like a Pretzel brick. Amazon stopped delivering cans as Prime, and I don't want to get yelled at by the Fresh delivery workers so I've been making do with water, flour, and yeast. At least until it's warm enough to walk to the grocery store (which is like an hour walk each way).

I finally got a roommate - some mice are hiding behind my oven. I feel bad for them, so the worst I've done is open the kitchen window to keep my floor cold so they stop running across it. If I had cheese to give I would spare the whole wheel.

Despite all this I'm pretty happy to just be existing here. I think the only way to make me miserable is to make a friend upset at me. And I've been in good company, which is all that matters to me.
